The Lord our God is one and has made known his name as the great I AM. He has revealed himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The one true God lives in this community of Trinity, marked with mutual love, submission and honor. He comes to us in love and receives our awe, reverence, worship, honor and obedience.
God the Father
God the Father is the source of all things visible and invisible. With the Son and the Holy Spirit, he has created man, as male and female, in his image. He chooses to relate to the human race as Father, sending his Son and waiting for humankind to reconcile our broken relationship.
GOD THE SON
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has no beginning because he is eternally begotten of the Father; he has no end because he has been raised to life everlasting. Through Christ the universe was created. He was virgin born through the Holy Spirit and is both very God and very man. He was born without sin and committed no sin. He was confirmed to be the Son of God through the miracles he performed. He died for our sins and was raised to life by the Father. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God. He prays for the church and sends the Holy Spirit on believers. Jesus is coming again in a visible, physical return for the church.
GOD THE Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God present with us. He is the divine person, equal with the Father and the Son. In the days of the Old Testament, he visited only prophets, priests and kings. Since the Day of Pentecost, he has come to all believers. He is sent by the Father and the Son as the agent of the new birth. By him, believers cry, “Abba, Father.” Through him we are cleansed from the old nature. The Holy Spirit guides, teaches, and empowers Christ followers for service. Through Christ, believers are baptized with the Holy Spirit. The baptism with the Holy Spirit is accompanied with evidences such as the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, the ability to speak God’s word in prophesy, to pray the will of God through tongues, and the conversion of lost people through empowered witness.
Man, as male and female, was made from the dust of the ground into the image of God. We are created to live in fellowship with God and to enjoy him forever. Through willful sin, the image of God in man has been broken beyond our ability to repair. This state of original sin has made it impossible for human beings to choose right and only capable of choosing wrong. Without Christ we are unable to change our condition.
The Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God and our final authority of faith and life. No other authority is greater. Only what is taught in the Bible can be required for us to believe and obey. Scripture alone is our only source of doctrine. It cannot be added to, subtracted from or superseded in any way. Our value of divine inspiration is demonstrated through our submission to the Bible’s instruction, correction and reproof.
Through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, the penalty for the sins of the human race was paid. Through Christ’s atonement, forgiveness of sin is available to all, but is effective only in those who believe in Jesus as Christ as Lord.
Salvation from sin is the experience of deliverance from death into newness of life. A believer has been saved through the death of Christ on the cross, he is being saved in the present time through the gift of salvation and he lives in hope of salvation on the last day standing in the presence of God. Salvation is a free gift, received by faith in Jesus Christ, confessing him as Lord and the repenting of sin. Through salvation, believers are adopted into the family of God and brought into covenant relationship with Christ.
Gifts & Fruit of the Holy Spirit
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are a divine enablement beyond human ability to reveal Christ through a human life. The purpose of the gift is to glorify Jesus and to strengthen the body of Christ. The spiritual gifts are given for the benefit of others. All spiritual gifts described in the Bible are available today as they were in the time of the apostles. The fruit of the Holy Spirit tempers the spiritual gifts so that all ministry is done in love.
God calls us to be holy through the work of Christ. Jesus calls people to be his disciples and to follow his teaching in everything. Growth happens through the choice to take up the cross of responsibility on a daily basis. Suffering is the way to growth, for through it Christ followers die to their old way of life and become more like Jesus. This work of sanctification is a work of grace.
The local church is the presence of Christ on earth, and through it he ministers to the world. The church is built of people, born anew by the Spirit, baptized in water, in fellowship with one another in love and submitted to spiritual leadership. Believers are called to devote themselves to one another in love to enable the church to grow. Elders are the spiritual leaders of the local church who oversee the church. To them the gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher are given to lead the people. Leaders enable health to flourish in the church by overseeing spiritual discipline to speak truth in love in order that believers mature in Christ.
Baptism in water is a public declaration of faith in Christ. Believers are baptized into the death of Christ and raised into a new life through the power of the resurrection. Baptism of believers by full immersion on the confession of their personal faith is the biblical pattern. Through baptism, a convert to Christ becomes a disciple and spiritually a part of the body of Christ.
The Lord’s Supper is a meal of remembrance of the final dinner Jesus shared with his disciples. The bread and wine are symbols of the benefits of Christ’s death shared with those who believe in him. In the Lord’s Supper, Jesus is spiritually present to his followers. Communion is open to all believers who express faith in Christ.
We believe that Christ can heal people and bring health to their bodies as we pray in faith for the sick. Through the death of Christ, gifts of healing are given through believers. Christ followers are urged, when sick, to call upon the Elders of the church to anoint them with oil and pray for their physical and spiritual healing.
Heaven and Hell
Jesus Christ is coming again to earth in a future second coming that will be both visible and personal. Those who have died will be resurrected from the dead, and along with Christ followers who are alive, will meet the Lord in the air. There is coming a last judgment where Christ will judge the eternal status of nonbelievers. In his perfect wisdom, the eternal judgment of hell awaits for the devil, his angels and those without faith in Christ. The eternal reward of heaven awaits those who Christ has redeemed.
