…how long since you were amazed?
iPhones and VR have left us blue-blind and bored. Humans are hungry for amazement. We’re more attuned to living in a maze than in being amazed. Yet is not amazement what Jesus has called us to? Amazement is the key to understanding Jesus and the gospels. The choice to be amazed and to marvel, wonder and admire, is what unlocks everything about the Messiah Jesus. The kingdom of heaven is all around us. Be amazed. 2018 will be a year of amazement. It is not “how” in the Bible, but always “WOW”.
AMAZEMENT IS A CHOICE
How long has it been since you were amazed? Amazement is the key to understanding Jesus! Amazement is a choice of a deliberate life discipline to marvel, to wonder and to admire. It’s a decision to get over ourselves, stop being distracted, to look beyond the surface and to be be surprised like children. Amazement changes everything!
And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.” Luke 5:26
AMAZEMENT TAKES TIME
The amazing happens in a flash, but amazement takes TIME. Will you take the time to be amazed, like the first Christ followers were amazed? To know Jesus, be amazed by Jesus.
And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed and ran up to him and greeted him. Mark 9:15
AMAZING LIFE CHANGE
The most difficult thing to change in the world are people. Just ask a teacher, a mother, a counsellor or a politician. It seems that people don’t change. The power of Jesus is seen best in how he changed and is changing human lives. It is amazing how Jesus takes orindary people and does extraordinary things through them.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

BE AMAZED ANYHOW
There is a cost to being a person who is amazed: other people won’t share your amazement. Like many today, they are distracted. Be amazed anyhow! Many people live lives that are too busy, distracted, bored, negative, fault-finding, and ungrateful. They will pull you down. They are basement people. Be a balcony person, who lifts others up to a level of amazement!
Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find his body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. Luke 24:22-23
Jesus is healing. He radiates health. When Jesus touched people, they were healed. Jesus amazed people in the past by making sick people well. He’s still surprising us today with his gifts of healing.
And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:12
Jesus is kind beyond belief. Amazement came to all who saw him take great risks to care for people ignored or rejected by others. Jesus is love and calls us to amazing love.
At this point His disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?” John 4:27
Jesus is smart. People, with hang ups, hung onto every word Jesus spoke. In Jesus is found all the wisdom we hunger for.
And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2:47
Jesus is liberating. Traumatized people are set free by Jesus to think, to speak and to live without demons oppressing them. Jesus wants to set you free. This will be a video message from India with Pastor Phil McCallum.
