Evergreen Church participates in the Lord's economy by helping you give your tithes and offerings within the ever-evolving world's economy. In the United States, the IRS has classified cryptocurrencies as property for tax purposes. This means that, when you donate Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit like Evergreen Church, you are not require to pay capital gains tax on your original receipt of the cryptocurrency, and you can still claim the US dollar value at the time of the donation on your income taxes. When giving cryptocurrency, Evergreen Church will immediately calculate the US dollar value of your donation, and include that amount on your annual giving statement if you provide your email to us.
